Story Time for Preschool Listeners
Medway Public Library will off All By Myself, a 45 minute story time for
Medway children ages 3 1/2 - 5 years old. The program consists of stories
and activities based on a weekly theme and is designed as a first step
program for independent listeners. Space is limited,
registration at the library begins September 2nd.
Wanted – Missing Medway Alumni
Preparations have begun for the 2009 Alumni Banquet. Next year’s milestone
is the 125th annual reunion and we would like this tradition to
continue. Several hundred graduates are missing from the database.

Outdoor High Adventure Fun for Teens
Venturing is a co-ed scouting program for youth ages 14 to 20 who have
completed the eighth grade. Medway’s Venturing Crew 748 is holding
it's last
open houses for interested teens on September 10th, 7:30-8:30 PM, in the
basement of St. Joseph’s Church, 151 Village St. For more information or

Memorial School Curriculum Night
will be held on Thursday September 11th.
Grade 3 parents 6:30 to 8:00 pm; Grade 4 parents 7:00 to 8:30 pm.
Medway Public Library
Medway Public Library, 26 High St., is open during the following days and
times: Monday-Thursday 2-8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

the following passes to Medway residents: Massachusetts State Parks Pass,
Boston Children’s Museum, Discovery Museum, Isabella Stuart Gardner
Museum, Garden in the Woods, Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Science,
Mystic Aquarium, Plimoth Plantation, Roger Williams Park Zoo and Tower
Hill Botanical Garden. These passes are entirely funded by a
Massachusetts State Grant.

Massachusetts Primary Elections
Vote on Tuesday September 16th at the
Medway Middle School from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. Cast votes for U.S.
Senator Commonwealth, Representative in Congress Third District, Councilor
in Second District, Senator in MA Legislature, Representative in MA
Legislature, Register of Probate in Norfolk County, County Treasurer,
County Commissioner.

will hold it's next meeting

Medway Special Education Parents Advisory Council
will hold it's first meeting of the new school year on
Wednesday September 17th
at 7:00 PM in the Aerobics Room at the Medway High School.
Dr. Judith Evans,
Superintendent of Schools will speak on her vision for our school system.
Following the presentation, Judy Giovangelo will instruct the group in
relaxation techniques using yoga and breathing.

10th Annual PCS PetWalk 2008
will be held on
Sunday September 21st,
10am to 3pm (rain or shine).
Put on your walking shoes,
grab the leash and the dog and come on out. Join other animal
lovers for a 3-mile walk on the grounds of the Norfolk County
Agricultural High School, 400 Main St, Route 1A in Walpole. Ask family, friends and
co-workers to sponsor you for PetWalk 2008. Bring your
sponsor sheet to PetWalk 2008 and
register anytime between 10am and 1pm then enjoy your walk at your
leisure. A shorter hard surface route is available for those who prefer
not to walk the paths. Participants reaching certain sponsorship levels
will be eligible for prizes. Everyone is welcome to attend, with or
without a dog, enjoy a beautiful walk and show your support for homeless
animals. After your walk check out the many booths, rescue groups,
demonstrations, pet samples, face painting, games for kids, raffles, live
music and
much more on the main field!

American Girl Fashion Show
Call for Volunteers
The Medway Foundation for Education (MFE), will sponsor a series of
American Girl fashion shows to be held at the Medway VFW, Holliston
Street, Medway, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1 and Sunday, Nov.
2. Show highlights will include a fashion show, raffle prizes, doll
hairdressers, show souvenirs, holiday shopping opportunities, and
refreshments. Ticket purchases will be available online at
www.medwayeducation.org in July. The MFE is looking for character
“look-a-like” models. Girls must wear size 6X or Size 10. Adult and teen
volunteers are also needed to help staff and organize the program. Anyone
interested should contact Ms. Williams at 508-533-1122, or online at
awilliams1122@juno.com. All proceeds go directly to the MFE.

Auditions for "Ladies in Retirement"
Directed by Michael Legge
with performances scheduled for November 14th, 15th, 21st and 22nd will be
held September 23rd and 25th at 7 PM
in the Conference Room of the Medway Public Library, 26 High Street.
During the 1920s in the remote English countryside, Miss Fisk, a retired
woman of easy virtue, lives with her housekeeper, Ellen. Ellen persuades
Miss Fisk to let her two mentally unstable sisters visit them. Ellen is
fiercely protective of her sisters and she schemes to have them live with
her permanently. Miss Fisk finds out her scheme and wants the sisters to
leave and go to an asylum. Ellen kills her and walls her up in the
fireplace. She tells the outside world that Miss Fisk is traveling and
sold the home to Ellen. Albert, Ellen's crooked nephew, is on the run
from the police after absconding with bank money. He soon suspects Ellen
of murder and starts to blackmail her.
ELLEN: Middle aged. Quietly forceful and determined. A touch of madness.
MISS FISK: Elderly. Usually affable and kind but can't abide the mad
sisters.
ALBERT: Ellen's nephew. 30's. A cad, a rake and thief.
LOUISA: Middle aged. Ellen's sister. Much in her own world, and
childlike.
EMILY: Middle aged. Ellen's sister. More stern and dominating than
Louisa.
SISTER THERESA: A kindly nun from the nearby convent.
LUCY: The young maid. She becomes involved in Albert's plot of
blackmail.

The Medway Community Church will hold it's Annual Harvest Festival on
Saturday September 27th. Fresh
baked pies, plant table, food, games, books and more at this great event.

Fall 2008 Program
All registrations may be mailed to Community Education or hand-delivered
to the Middle School Office Mondays-Fridays 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Registration deadline is September 29th.
Late registrations will be accepted if space allows. Classes fill up
quickly, so register early! Participants in the Adult Programs must be at
least 18 years of age.

"Edible Wild Plants of
the Northeast"
will be the topic on Tuesday,
September 30th, 6:30 - 8:00 PM at the Medway Public Library, 26
High St., Medway with naturalist John Root. The PowerPoint presentation
will include\s samples of our most readily available and appealing wild
plants. Free; sponsored by the Medway Cultural Council and the
Massachusetts Cultural Council.

Pumpkin Fair
Rain or Shine, the Medway Elementary PTO Annual Pumpkin Fair will

Medway Pre-Fall Town Meeting
The Board of Selectmen have tentatively posted
Monday November 10th at 6 PM in the Medway High School as the
date and time for the Pre-Fall Town Meeting. Warrant to be posted at
a later date by the Town.
St Joseph Church Fall Fair
will be held on Saturday November 22nd
in the Parish Center on Holliston Street.
